Springmoor offers 19 distinctive floor plans that range from alcove apartments of 494 square feet to two-bedroom single-family homes of 1,402 square feet. Regardless of size, every residence has a brick exterior and features a beautiful full kitchen with a dishwasher.
Depending on your needs, you may prefer an apartment with one bedroom or two. You’ll want to consider a villa or single-family home if you need even more space. Villas and homes both have a private deck, patio, or screened porch, as well as attic storage. Our homes feature a one-car garage as well.
Your monthly service package includes all utilities (electric, gas, water, local telephone, and more than 100 TV channels through Spectrum Cable). Forget about DIY home maintenance or scheduling repairmen because these services are included, except for repairs to your personal property. You’ll have more time for all the activities you enjoy most when you take advantage of our housekeeping and flat linen services (also included!).
Some residences have special features like built-ins, bay windows, and fireplaces. In many cases, you have the option of adding luxury features to your new home before you move in. Meet our Move-In Coordinator, Farrah Anderson
Farrah Anderson has been on staff at Springmoor for 7 years. Formerly a Shift Manager in our Stewart Health Center, she has served as our Move-In Coordinator since spring 2023. Throughout her 22-year career, Farrah has held various positions at a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).
New residents have already chosen the specific apartment they will move into before they meet with Farrah. “My goal is to help them make their new apartment feel like home,” she says. “I take them through the floor plan they’ve selected room by room.”
There are two levels of renovations Springmoor provides to new residents, full and partial. If upgrades to the cabinets, countertops, and bathrooms are needed so the residence meets all Springmoor’s standards for excellence, a full renovation is conducted. If these items have recently been redone, only a partial renovation is needed.
“Regardless of whether the renovation is full or partial, we always repaint the entire residence and refloor the bedrooms,” Farrah says. Residents can also request upgrades such as built-in bookshelves and recessed can lights.
Farrah meets with each “soon-to-be” resident to review their selections for flooring, paint colors, countertops, lighting fixtures, door and drawer pulls, and more. She then provides a comprehensive list of this information to the renovation team.
Farrah keeps residents who have chosen their apartment and are moving in soon informed about the progress with their renovations. She typically connects with them by phone multiple times each week.
She also provides photos and detailed updates weekly via email so that each resident stays abreast of the progress on the space that is soon to be theirs. “Receiving photos really helps people feel comfortable with the process and gets them excited about their move,” she says.
Once the renovations are complete, Farrah schedules a formal, structured meeting with the resident during which she provides them with a complete orientation. “I give them a crash course on everything Springmoor,” she says. “I explain how they obtain their key and get their residence unlocked on the day of their move. I show them where their mailbox and storage unit are and cover all the details about life in our community.”

Making the Transition as Easy as Possible
Farrah also helps each new resident set up their Spectrum account before moving in because this can be tricky to navigate. As a result, all newcomers have their TV and internet ready to enjoy after a long day of moving in. “My goal is to make the move-in process a stress-free and rewarding experience,” she says.
The day after the resident moves in, Farrah calls to make sure everything went smoothly. She inquires as to what staff can do to support the resident during their transition. The Welcoming Committee of the Residents Association supports Farrah’s efforts by visiting, bringing housewarming gifts, and inviting the new person to join them for a meal.
Many departments work together to make sure each residence is in tip top shape before a new resident arrives. “Members of the Marketing, Maintenance, and Housekeeping Departments meet weekly to stay on top of all renovations processes,” Farrah says. Maintenance ensures all electrical and plumbing facilities are in good working order, and they then pass the baton to Housekeeping for a thorough cleaning.
Farrah also assists with 10-year refurbishments. “After a resident has lived at Springmoor for 10 years, we reach out to them to make sure all aspects of their apartment are satisfactory,” she explains. “We offer them the same flooring and cabinets choices we’re currently offering to new residents.” Residents have the option of declining refurbishments if they wish.
Farrah says her favorite part of her job is working directly with residents. “You get to build a sense a trust,” she says. “Residents tell me their selections and trust we’re going to take what’s on paper and make it a reality so that their new residence feels like home on the very first day.”
She and the new residents build a strong rapport during the move-in process. “After they move in, they gradually become aware of all the other staff resources they have available to them on an ongoing basis here at our community.”
