“We knew life at Springmoor would be good, but it’s even better than expected,” exclaims resident Albert Calloway. He and his wife, Lorine, have been residents since 2010.
When asked why they chose Springmoor for senior living, our residents often go into detail regarding the benefits of a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). One example is resident Judy Grant, who joined our community in August 2019. Though she has a close-knit extended family, she was adamant about moving to a CCRC rather than living with one of her adult children.
“My children are wonderfully involved in my life,” says Judy, “but I’m very independent and wanted my own digs.”
Judy explains further, “It’s wonderful to live with family if you’re very healthy. But what if you fall and break a hip, then what does the family do? Springmoor has all the levels of care. I didn’t want my kids having to make crisis decisions regarding my care.”
Resident Betty Aydlett shares that she has “long considered Springmoor’s continuing care benefits as a gift to our son and daughter-in-law.” She goes on to say, “…[S]ince moving here, I’ve realized [moving to Springmoor] is a gift to ourselves as well. It gives us the freedom to enjoy our time together in wonderful ways without worry.”
You Get More at a CCRC
It’s important to understand when considering your options for retirement living that 55+ communities typically do not offer the financial stability, on-site support, or wide range of coordinated events and activities that are available on our campus each week.
“All dimensions of life are dealt with here: spiritual, intellectual, physical and social,” says C.P. Minnick, who moved to our community in 2009.
Many who live here laud the convenience of life as a member of our community. Resident Jan Hagarty says, “I feel so comfortable and secure here. You don’t have to worry about anything to do with your house or yard. I just feel that everything I need is here!”
Resident Mary Sugg sums up the value of a CCRC this way: “Most of all I like the secure feeling that no matter what the future holds, I will be well cared for at Springmoor.”
Location, location, location!
Other residents are quick to praise the campus, with its many mature trees and carefully tended landscaping. Jane Preiss, a resident since 2013, exclaims: “The campus here is beautiful, and we really like our apartment on the third floor surrounded by trees—like a tree house!” Others emphasize how mild Raleigh winters make outdoor activities possible year-round.
Resident Jim Bundy shares that he and his wife Faye “[F]eel like we made the right decision to move to the right place at the right time. There is such a wealth of activities, and although we’ve tried, we just can’t make it to all of them! It’s an incredibly friendly and giving community and we are happy to be a part of it.”
A Welcoming Community
Springmoor residents often comment that the other members of the community are like family to them. One of the key advantages of life in our active senior living community is that you’re surrounded by kind neighbors—some of whom are sure to share your interests.
Judy Allen puts it this way: “I must say, I’ve notice how friendly the people are at Springmoor. It’s wonderful how welcomed I felt as a new resident, by everyone, the staff and my neighbors. I expected people to be friendly here, but it’s greater than my expectations by a long shot. It’s the friendliest place I’ve ever been!”
