Now it’s time to downsize. Look around your house, filled with things you have collected over the years. Start by thinking about what you really need to keep vs. what you actually want to keep. If you make a list of things you need: a bed, dresser, and nightstand for sleeping; add a table and chairs for dining; a sofa, chair, and a few side tables for living, then you’ve made the first list.

Cooking
You’ll only need to add a few things to your list for your kitchen, because you will be able to enjoy the Springmoor dining rooms and cafés almost anytime you are hungry. No need to bring all those pots and pans or a full set of dishes. Once you arrive, you will quickly see that the dishwasher rarely gets used. You’ll spend less time preparing food, and more time reading, volunteering, attending events, and going on excursions without being stuck in the kitchen!

Entertaining
You will more than likely be entertaining friends, neighbors, and family members, even with a tiny home lifestyle. If you prefer not to host guests in your apartment home, the grounds and social areas available at Springmoor are located throughout campus, and provide lots of extras for entertaining activities.
Are the grandchildren joining you for the afternoon? Try the swimming pool or the billiards room, the walking trails, or the ping-pong tables. Pianos and computers are located throughout the campus for your enjoyment too. An ice cream cone is never far away and you won’t even have to leave the building to enjoy it.

Without the need to mow the grass, clean the house, or call a repairman, you can spend time doing what you enjoy. And, you won’t have to travel far from your apartment home to do so. Our list of events each month is endless. The movie theatre has a variety of films, and with the smell of popcorn popping, who can resist an invitation on a Friday night?

Do you prefer to get out and see Raleigh? Check out our monthly newsletter, Springtimes to see where the travel group is going next. There’s always a list of food and fun in each publication. Trips to see the Grady White Boat manufacturing plant and the Videri Chocolate Factory were among the many favorite tours this fall. If you love the theatre or the symphony, we have a date scheduled for those trips too. Life is easy when you let Springmoor do your planning.
