    Raleigh Travel Series: The Civil War Years

    Each month, Springmoor residents board the community bus for a historic tour of Raleigh, guided by Parker Call. The theme of this month’s tour is “The Civil War Years,” with the bus traveling to several historical attractions. The bus tour will last about an hour and a half.

    Tour of Hanes Moravian Cookie Factory

    Have a sweet tooth? Take a trip to visit the Hanes Moravian Cookie Factory! Springmoor residents will travel to Clemmons, NC for lunch and guided tour of the factory. Following the tour, they’ll have time to make a stop at the gift shop to bring home a few treats.

    Springmoor Presents: A Touch of Brass

    Head down to the Springmoor auditorium for this brass band, A Touch of Brass! The band includes Dave Koch on the trumpet, Kathy Silbiger on the trumpet and flugelhorn, Mary Ruth Roth on the horn, Michal Evans on the trombone, Chris Peffley on the tuba and Bill Hayes playing percussion.

    Tour of the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham

    Spring is here, and in celebration, the Springmoor bus will travel to Durham to visit the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. The gardens feature 55 acres of landscaped and wooded areas, and five miles of scenic pathways. For this trip, the master gardener will take residents on a tour through one or two of their specialty gardens.

    Spring Walk at William B. Umstead Park

    Enjoy a spring afternoon with friends and neighbors as we take a trip to the William B. Umstead Park in Raleigh. This will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy scenic views, fresh air and a bit of exercise.
