It’s time to decorate!

You have chosen a new home and now it’s time to make your home design decisions! The first step is to meet with us in our Marketing Offices where you will be shown the numerous choices and options to design the floor plan you have selected. From flooring and cabinets, to appliances and paint colors, we go through every room to make sure it matches your personal style.
The kitchen is usually the favorite place to start designing. Cabinets are offered in cherry or maple wood with an assortment of stain options, and colors. You also get to choose between a simple Arlington door style and a more detailed Breckenridge door for your new kitchen. The doors and drawers are finished with the whisper-soft close hinge to eliminate any banging cabinet doors, and the hardware is brushed nickel, which adds an updated finishing touch to your drawers and cabinet doors. Of course, we offer a variety of upgrades for your kitchen, too. Pullout shelves inside your cabinets and ceiling-height cabinets are two of our most popular selections.
Finishing your kitchen with one of our many quartz countertops options makes the kitchen your very own. There are a wide variety of colors and styles to choose from with this durable new product. Quartz offers no additional sealing maintenance and the durability is much higher. Cracks that can often appear over time with granite have been engineered out of this popular stone. Staining is never a problem with quartz either.
Appliances come next: black, white, or stainless steel? Are you a cook, or are you ready to retire from this task and dine with us in one of our many dining options? Certainly, a little of both is where you will find most of our residents. For those who like to bake and cook, our full size stove is perfect for preparing holiday treats or cooking an entire family meal. And, for added counter space, the microwave is built into the cabinetry.
Choosing flooring for your apartment home is next. There is carpet (patterned and plain), several colors of luxury plank flooring, and vinyl tile to choose from. Do you have oriental rugs that look best on a wooden floor? Or do you prefer carpet under your feet when you wake up in the morning? Customizing your apartment to fit your lifestyle is all part of our process to make you feel at home.
Customized closets and electrical details are also aspects to consider when designing your new home. New residents often add ceiling fans in the bedroom or on their patio. Where to place the computer, TV, and phone are easy decisions to make since additional outlets are being added for all of our new move-ins. Your favorite chandelier can be added by simply bringing it to us a few weeks prior to your move.
We finish each window with 2 1/2” horizontal faux wood blinds or custom-made linen draperies. If you prefer to bring your own coordinating drapes, we can assist you with the installation.
The final step is choosing paint! What colors suit your style? Do you have a favorite upholstered chair or favorite duvet cover? Bring it along and we can design your new residence to match. Some residents choose one color throughout and add artwork, furniture, and accessories for pops of color. Others paint each room to match the interior furnishings, and some have decided on a feature wall as an accent color. For one new resident, a touch of red in the kitchen provided a perfect backdrop to a painting of the NC State Bell Tower. Another resident filled her new house with large watercolors of the beach. She chose a soft misty gray wall color throughout her new house, making for a perfect backdrop to display her art.
