Out to Dinner – Captain Stanley's
January 16, 2018 - 4:45 pm
Captain Stanley’s Seafood Restaurant was founded in 1986 by LeVerne and Paula Stanley. The Stanley’s mission was to provide the best Calabash Style seafood at an affordable price and with great customer service.
LeVerne grew up in Brunswick County, North Carolina and began fishing and cooking seafood at an early age. In 1965, he began working with his uncles who owned a calabash seafood restaurant in Oak Island, NC. This is where he got his first look into the seafood restaurant business as he worked summers while attending college. After a successful high school teaching and coaching career, the Stanleys decided to open their own seafood restaurant in Raleigh.
Originally the restaurant was located on Tryon Road. As the business grew, Captain Stanley’s moved to a larger building at the current location of 3333 S. Wilmington St. The move was greeted with much success. Over the years Captain Stanley’s has developed a loyal clientele that is the basis of the restaurant’s success.
Reservations are requested by Friday, January 12 at 9am
